Get Rid of Forehead Pimples

Pimples on forehead are caused when the body is trying to get rid of excess sebum or clogged dirt which has attracted bacteria. Pimples on foreheads can be painful and tough to get rid of too. Sometimes, when home remedies fail and the pimples get worse, one should consult a doctor. However, pimples on forehead are caused by various reasons, so let’s take a look at some of the main causes which trigger pimples to appear on the forehead.

Forehead Pimples Causing Factors:

Pimple Causing Factors

1. Stress –

Stress can increase oil production and make your skin look greasier and tired. Stress pimples are caused when the excessive oil secreted by the skin clogs the pores on the forehead causing tiny red or even puss-filled bumps.

2. Hormonal Changes –

Women tend to suffer from forehead acne because of a disturbed menstrual cycle or other hormonal changes. Sometimes menopause can trigger acne issues because of the rapidly falling estrogen levels. teens also get acne issues when they are going through puberty. The growing and rushing hormones disbalance the secretion from the sebaceous gland making it release more sebum to the skin than what’s necessary.

3. Naturally Oily Skin –

Some people are born with oily skin or even develop it along the way. Oily skin can be a major issue for people with acne. The dirt, dead skin cells, bacteria, and excessive sebum often gets clogged on the skin and can cause acne.

4. Dandruff –

The biggest cause of forehead pimples is dandruff. When hair with dandruff comes in contact with the skin, generally around the forehead, it tends to cause pimple breakouts. Dandruff settles on the skin causing irritation and redness. Sometimes the area can get slightly inflamed too. Dandruff then mixes with the oil on the face and clogs the pores causing breakouts.

5. Using Skincare not Fit for the Skin Type –

Choosing the right skincare products for one’s skin can be a tough job but using products not meant for the particular skin type can cause more harm than damage. A person with dry skin who uses products for oily skin type will eventually ruin their skin and cause acne breakouts. This is the reason why it is necessary to research a certain product before applying it to the skin.

6. Un-removed Makeup –

Makeup can make a woman look like a diva but is also capable of ruining her skin if not applied with care. It is a common problem among women that they get too lazy to carefully remove their makeup after a long day. It is necessary to rest but it is equally important to let the skin rest too. The unremoved makeup stays on the skin overnight making the skin secrete more oils and end up attracting a lot of bacteria. It not only degrades the quality of the skin but also exposes it to ugly acne issues.

7. Medication –

Sometimes some medicines can cause pimples as a side effect. It is best to consult a doctor if one feels their medication is causing frequent breakouts. Certain medications can cause hormonal imbalance and trigger frequent breakouts. The doctor might prescribe some ways to keep it under control.

How to prevent Pimples from Emerging:

Every other day people look up for and whip new techniques to get rid of pimples. These are some basic steps everyone must follow to keep their skin fresh and healthy and also stop pimple breakouts.

  • Using chemical exfoliators to deep clean the skin and release clogged pores that trigger acne. Exfoliators remove dead skin cells and help brighten the skin.
  • Using sunscreen every time one has to go out. A 50+ SPF sunscreen is recommended to protect the skin efficiently from sun damage that might trigger pimples.
  • Doing a hot water steam every alternate day so that the existing pimples can subdue. Heat can effectively calm down irritated skin because of acne and also eliminate the chances of frequent breakouts.
  • The worst thing to do to a pimple is poked and scratch it. By poking it or removing its upper layer, the pimple gets exposed to more bacteria which causes it to inflame. The pimple situation can get worse if one keeps picking at them. If a pimple starts getting red or irritated it is best to apply ice or honey to soothe it.
  • Avoiding using harsh scrubbers or brushes to wash the face as they do more harm than good. They cause minute wear and tear in the skin which is not visible to the human eye. The skin structure deteriorates and exposes it to skin issues like pimples.

Best Commodities to Help Fight Acne:

Best Commodities to Fight Acne

1. Tea Tree Oil –

Tea tree oil is anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial making it the most sought-after product for acne treatment. It calms redness, inflammation, and even acne scars. It is great for everyday use and comes at a pretty reasonable price too.

2. Aloe Vera –

Aloe vera has anti-bacterial properties that help to stop acne-causing bacteria. They also make the skin elastic and reduce acne marks. Aloe vera is present in several skincare products for one to use. Even raw aloe vera can be applied, the insides of it can be scraped out to get a thick and heavy gel-like substance. It is very nutritional for the skin.

3. Honey –

Raw honey helps balance out the bacteria on the skin making it a great option to fight pimples. It is proven that honey speeds us the skin cell’s healing process and rapidly works on eliminating acne and giving the skin a dewy glow. Honey is also proven to be effective at clearing out acne marks.

4. Ice –

Applying ice to the skin not only tightens it but also reduces inflammation and irritation caused by acne. Ice tightens the pores of the face and minimizes the chances of dirt and goop getting clogged in open pores, thus minimizing acne breakouts.

5. Green Tea –

Green tea has a very high antioxidant level and is great for consumption as it clears the bowels. Applying green tea to the skin in its pure form or even when it is present in other products is helpful as it reduces swelling and pimples.

Pro Tips for Healing Pimples:

  • One should not touch their face often as the bacteria and dirt on the palms can trigger pimples.
  • Dabbing a towel on the face after washing it instead of scrubbing the towel on the face.
  • Applying a soothing aloe vera or tea tree sheet mask before going to bed at night.
  • Avoiding exfoliating brushes and using honey as an exfoliator.
  • Using sunscreen even when indoors.
  • Applying ice on the face if it starts getting irritated.
  • Using tea tree oil as a base before applying makeup
  • Inclining towards water-based products for the skin rather than oil-based ones.
  • Using face-specific moisturizers. Body lotions can be heavier and clog your pores.
  • Using ice as soon as the threading or waxing is done on the forehead.

When is it Time to Seek help regarding Pimples?

Sometimes, even after our best shots, the pimples can be stubborn. The best option is to visit a dermatologist then. A dermatologist is an expert at knowing what your skin needs and might be able to effectively help. Mentioned below are a few times one should consult a doctor regarding pimples-

  • If the subject is below 7-8 years of age – seeing pimples on a child that young might be signs of early setting puberty and would need further evaluation. So, it’s best to visit a specialist.
  • If the pimples don’t heal and keep getting worse – Even after using the best products and putting up the best efforts, if the skin doesn’t clear up, it’s time to see a dermatologist.
  • If the pimples leave scars – If the pimples scar as they leave, there are ways to eliminate the scarring.
  • If there is severe pain- normally, sometimes pimples can hurt but if the pimple leads to the whole area swelling up and getting rashes then it might lead to some other issues. One should visit a dermatologist as soon as possible in this case.

Pimples on the forehead can prove to be a toughie but with the right amount of care and precautions, it can easily be won over. Healing can take some time; it isn’t exactly a very rapid process. most of the forehead pimples are caused by dandruff. It is very necessary to keep the scalp clean. If the forehead is in constant contact with hair, laden with dandruff, dandruff can stick to the skin and clog the pores making the skin prone to breakouts. It is necessary for a person suffering from forehead acne to keep track of the triggers and follow instructions to keep them under control. Even after following all the instructions, it can take months for the acne to heal. Seeing a dermatologist if the acne doesn’t go away easily is still the best option as they can guide us towards improvement.
