It’s the time to have fun, get tanned and go on a vacation. But it gets harder to cheer up if you have to worry about your skin condition. The lack of moisture in your skin causes dry skin. But dry skin, even during the hot weather of summer, is a bit harmful and causes severe skin damage. To get rid of dry skin, here are home remedies that will make your skin smooth, being, and healthy. So let’s get into the Dry Skin Home Remedies You Need in Summer.

What Are The Causes of Dry Skin in Summer?

It is not possible to maintain a skincare routine all the time, but many reasons cause your dry skin even during the summer. 

  • Too much sun exposure may harm your skin and sometimes doesn’t allow your skin to hold the moisture.
  •  High-temperature hot baths affect your skin’s natural sebum and cause dry skin.
  • When you spend too much time in the pool, the water quality and chlorine can disbalance your pH level, thus leading to dry skin.
  • Scrubbing your face too much can damage the hair follicles of your skin. And stop any source of moisture in your skin. 

Why Are Home Remedies Good for Your Dry Skin?

It’s not even a debate about which one is good, home remedy, or product. Well, products have some perks like it shows results faster, are easy to use, but it does harm your skin a lot as well as products contain so many harmful chemicals, which make them difficult to use for people with sensitive skin. 

In the case of home remedies, you have control over the ingredients. If you know you get an allergic reaction to something, you can easily change the element. Home remedies are suitable for people with sensitive skin as it’s national and does not contain any chemical. And if you stay patient, it will work.

How to Prevent Dry Skin During Summer?

There are many ways you can prevent dry skin in summer.

  • Drink plenty of water as they maintain your body’s pH balance and keep you hydrated.
  • Don’t stay in the air conditioning room all the time, as it takes out all the skin moisture.
  • Always apply moisturizer or body oil at least twice a day.
  • Use Sunscreen so that the sun rays won’t damage your skin.
  • Reduce alcohol consumption.
  • Maintaining a balanced diet because too many carbohydrates can disbalance your health.

Top 7 Home Remedies for Summer Dry Skin

Having skin problems during the summer, too, is not exciting. To let you get out of all this misery, here are some home remedies to save your summer.

Vitamin E Oil and Aloe Vera

Vitamin E is good for your skin health. It improves cell functions which are very good for your skin. Besides its anti-inflammatory properties, it doesn’t cause any side effects, and it helps soothe your skin. Aloe Vera has vitamin C and E, which provides your skin with the moisture it needs. And the antioxidants make your skin look bright and wrinkle-free.

To do this method:

  1. Take a small bowl.
  2. Add two tablespoons of aloe vera gel. You can use it straight from aloe vera leaf or buy 100% pure aloe vera gel from the market.
  3. Cut one vitamin E capsule and put it into the bowl so you can easily mix them.
  4. Mix it thoroughly, then apply the mixture all over your face.
  5. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes, then wipe it off with a wet cloth so your skin can absorb all the nutrients in it.
  6. If you do this once a day, you can see the benefits in weeks, so you don’t need to spend much to see results.

Coconut Oil and Sugar Scrub

Coconut oil is a miracle oil. You can use it for so many reasons, and it has been used for years and years. Coconut oil contains moisturizing properties, which are suitable for your skin. And if you have ever used it, you may notice that coconut oil doesn’t have any side effects as the fatty acids keep your skin away from any bacteria and reduce inflammation. Then sugar is a great natural exfoliator for your skin. Sugar also helps bring back the moisture your skin has lost. And lock it into your skin.

To use this method:

  1. Cake two tablespoons of coconut oil and one tablespoon of sugar.
  2. Take it into your palms and apply it all over your face so your skin absorbs it.
  3. Massage the blend in a circular motion for 2-4 minutes, so the sugar exfoliates your face.
  4. Let it rest for 10 minutes, and clean it off with gentle face wash so it doesn’t leave your skin sticky.

If you even use coconut oil as your night moisturizer. Or other oils like jojoba oil, almond oil, or olive oil. Just take a few drops of any of these oils and massage it. And leave it overnight. 

Glycerine and Milk 

Glycerine is an emollient, making your skin super soft and moisturizing. Glycerine may be a thick inconsistency, but it relieves your skin from dryness and brings natural moisture to your face. And milk is rich in vitamin A, vitamin D, and lactic acid, which removes dead skin cells from your skin and makes it healthy. 

To do this method:

  1. Take a small bowl and add one tablespoon of glycerine and one tablespoon of milk.
  2. Try to maintain this ratio as glycerine is very sticky, and milk will help reduce that.
  3. Mix it thoroughly so that you get the consistency of thick cream.
  4. Use the mixture all over your face and massage it, so your skin absorbs it well.
  5. Let your skin absorb the moisture for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Wash it off with room temperature water, so it doesn’t dry your skin.
  7. Try this 3-4 times a week, and see the results.

Papaya and Honey 

Papaya has an enzyme called papain. Honey is the best organic ingredient for keeping your skin hydrated. It will keep your skin moist, and its antibacterial properties keep your skin away from further acne. It removes any impurities from your skin. Its inflammatory substances calm your skin and heal the pore.

To do this method: 

  1. First, chop some small papaya pieces, then grind them into a paste. 
  2. Then take a small bowl and add 2½ tablespoons of papaya pulp and one tablespoon of honey. 
  3. If you want the paste a bit liquid, you can add one tablespoon of rose water or milk. 
  4. Blend it well, then use it all over your skin and leave it for 1hr. 
  5. It’s a bit time-consuming but very soothing for your skin.

Oatmeal and Cucumber

Do you know what ingredient is best to use as a natural scrub? Yes, it’s oatmeal. Oatmeal works as a great exfoliator. It first removes all the dead skin from your skin and adds moisture to it. And when it comes to cucumbers, they work like wonders in summer. Its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant abilities smooth your skin and reduce irritation. Oatmeal and Cucumber work great together.

To do this method:

  1. First, grind half of the cucumber, take a small bowl, and add two tablespoons of oatmeal and three tablespoons of cucumber juice.
  2.  Let the oat soak in cucumber juice for a few minutes, then can apply it all over your face. 
  3. Use that mixture as a scrub and massage it in a circular motion. 
  4. Stay it for half an hour, then clean it off with water. 

Fuller’s Earth and Rose Water 

For many years, fuller’s earth has been applied, and it’s perfect for your skin. You can use it as a mask or an exfoliator. It absorbs the dirt, impurities, and bacteria from your skin. And give you a fresh look. You can get fuller’s earth powder from the market. The rose water reduces itchiness and redness on your skin and provides moisture.

To make this paste:

  1. Take a small bowl.
  2. Add two tablespoons of fuller’s earth and three tablespoons of rose water.
  3. Make a thin paste.
  4. Use a thin layer of this paste all over your face and neck.
  5. Leave it for 10-12 minutes and wash or wipe it off with wet clothes.

Avocado and Honey 

Avocados are good for eating as well as good for your skin. Its creamy texture, many vitamins, and antioxidants provide moisture to your skin and make it healthier. It heals your dry-looking flaky skin. And honey, we read before that it nourishes your skin and keeps away pimple acne, and many more skin issues.

To make this facial mask:

  1. Take two tablespoons of avocado, one tablespoon of honey, and two teaspoons of milk.
  2. Make an effective paste by blending everything thoroughly.
  3. Use it evenly all over your face.
  4. Leave it for 30-45 minutes, then rinse it off with water. You can see a glow on your face almost instantly.
  5. Do this method twice a week for the best result.

You should always take care of your skin. I know lifestyle sometimes makes it more challenging. But if you won’t maintain your skin health, then at some point, it will be too late to cure it. So take care of yourself. Remember to conduct a patch test before attempting any of these home cures to rule out the possibility of allergies.
