Get Glowing Skin in a Week

Skincare goes beyond covering skin issues with heavy layers of makeup. It is essential to keep the skin healthy and fresh to avoid various skin concerning issues and get glowing and radiant skin in a week. An individual needs to consciously follow steps to achieve glowing skin in a week. It is a gradual process but doing everything right might just escalate it.

Tips and tricks to get glowing skin within a week:

1. Identifying the skin type:

Identifying one’s skin type is the first step towards skin care. Without knowing the type of skin, the individual has it is impossible to look for ways to repair it and make it healthy. Different skin types have different needs.

Skin types:

– Normal skin:

Normal skin type is very well-balanced skin. The scientific term is “Eudermic”. The skin tends to be well moisturized and not too oily or dry.

– Dry skin:

Dry skin can be caused due to various factors like climate, chlorinated pool water, excessive washing of face and hands, etc. people with dry skin need to keep it hydrated and moisturized.

– Oily skin:

Oily skin leaves a consistent greasy effect. People with oily skin tend to get their pores clogged easily due to excessive sebum production. Acne and blackheads are common issues with this skin type.

– Combination skin:

Combination skin type is having oily skin in some areas and dry skin in some others. The T-zone is generally oily in this type of skin and the jawline area is very dry.

2. Following a consistent CTM routine:

Cleansing, toning, and moisturizing can be collectively called CTM. Once the skin type is confirmed it is time to hunt down the perfect cleanser, toner, and moisturizer which suits the skin type. The CTM routine should be followed twice a day, once after waking up and once at night. These three essentials will bring back the skin’s glow and make it naturally bright and clear.

The best products to use are those with tea tree oil, mulberry extract, kojic acid, niacinamide, etc. these will accelerate the process of getting glowing and spotless skin.

3. Exfoliation:

Exfoliation is important no matter what the skin type is. Dead skin and pollution get trapped deep down in the pores and just washing the face might clear the dirt on the top layer but it doesn’t clean the pores. This makes the skin look patchy.

There are tonnes of exfoliators available in the market. One can go for chemical exfoliators which are the hype at the moment or physical exfoliators like face scrubs. Even though there are chances that a physical exfoliator, if not very gentle, can harm the skin. Chemical exfoliators however work effortlessly if used according to guidelines.

– Aha, exfoliators:

These exfoliators can be used two or three times a week. It helps to increase the blood circulation in the skin and reduces blemishes and dark spots.

– Bha exfoliators:

This exfoliator works on the topmost layer of the skin. It helps to peel off the dead cells from the skin and leaves behind a lustrous, youthful look.

– Pha exfoliators:

4. Peel-off masks:

Peel offs with vitamin C are the best to restore glow and radiance to the skin. Fruit extracts like papaya and cucumber also seep through the layers and make the skin bouncy and soft.

5. Sheet mask:

6. Steam therapy:

Exposing the face to steaming, twice or thrice a week benefits the skin in many unimaginable ways. It is free and easy to do too. Just boiling water in a pan and covering it with a mesh-like cloth for the vapor to seep through it is all that’s needed. Steaming helps unclog pores and makes the skin softer and tighter. It also helps the skin sweat and releases pent-up toxins and stress, making it look more relaxed.

7. Using sunscreen religiously:

Dermatologists and skincare gurus can’t focus enough on how important it is to apply sunscreen to protect the skin from harmful UV rays. Even when indoors, the sunlight indirectly harms the skin, so it is advised to wear a sunscreen of at least SPF 30 indoors at all times. While heading out it is necessary to use a sunscreen with SPF 50 and PA+++ or PA++++ as it protects the skin from UVA and UVB rays.

Drinking an adequate amount of water – The skin doesn’t glow on the outside if it is not healthy on the inside.  Having adequate water throughout the day is the most basic lifestyle change one can go through to achieve glowing skin soon. The daily water intake might differ from person to person. A minimum of 3 liters of water is advised to be taken to get glowing skin within a week. Some people find it hard to drink lots of water because it is tasteless. They can easily add lemon or cucumber slices to the water or even mint leaves to make it refreshing and better to taste.

8. Exercise for both the face and body:

Exercise not only helps people keep fit, but also helps the body release toxins through sweat. Exercising gets the blood flowing better throughout the body which leads to healthier skin. One can make their face exercise by using jade rollers or gua sha stones. They help the blood to circulate evenly throughout the skin and reduce lines and wrinkles too.

9. Using face oil:

Face oils act as a base for many makeup products. Mixing face oil to the foundation gives a smooth and glowy look. However, applying face oils that are rich in minerals and vitamins and using a face roller to massage the face is very therapeutic. It helps the oil seep in easily into the deeper layers of the skin. Applying face oils using a face roller increases the blood flow in the skin. It helps to redefine the face and tightens the skin. Thus, providing the skin a smooth look without wrinkles and fine lines. It also helps to reduce puffiness around the eyes and is a great mood booster.

10. Getting adequate sleep:

A messed up sleep routine affects the body in unimaginable ways. It makes your skin look puffy and lifeless. To gain glowing skin in a week, it is necessary to get one’s sleep schedule on track. A minimum of 8 hours of sleep is required for the body to function properly.

But all you need to do is choose the right product for yourself that suits your skin type and makes your skin healthier. It is not important to use costly, fragranced products or the ones which are trending. It is important to use the ones that suit and help your skin even if they are a little less costly or are home remedies. Choose what’s best for you.

13. Switching products according to season:
