So what can we do about this? How do you get rid of the underarm odour? Well, there’s a solution. This article on 10 Ways to Remove Underarm Odour Permanently will discuss why and how to get rid of underarm odour.

What Causes Underarm Odor?

So how is underarm odour caused? Well, the leading cause is usually due to excessive sweating and poor hygiene. Sweat itself does not cause bad breath or body odour. The problem is that excessive sweating makes bacteria grow on the skin.

Bacteria cause sweat to smell and can also give off odours. It is why that particular smell will be present in the person. It is also the reason for skin irritation and infection. These bacteria also cause poor hygiene, so the underarm smells after working out.

Another cause of underarm odour could be hair clipping. Removing hair in general increases bacteria in the body. It makes the problem worse, especially in the underarm area. The removed hair absorbs sweat and other substances, leading to even more sweat.

Natural Remedies to Remove Underarm Odor

Now, you know the causes of underarm odour. But how do we fix this problem? There are a few different ways to solve the problem.

You can do some things right at home to remove the underarm odour. These natural remedies will help remove any odour and keep the area clean.

1. Potato:

First on our list is the potato. This healthy vegetable absorbs sweat, helping reduce body odour. You can add potatoes to your diet for better hygiene by crushing them and mixing them with water.

Potato is an excellent deodoriser, and its natural enzymes neutralise unpleasant smells. Mash one potato and apply it to the underarm for about 30 minutes. Then, you rinse off with cool water. It will remove the nasty odour from your body.

How to Apply:

Cut a small piece of potato into thin slices. Then put it on your underarms (Just beneath your armpit). Leave it for 30 min, therefore, allowing your skin to absorb the potato protein. Then wash it off with plain water.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is an excellent antibiotic, helping end those nasty bacteria on your skin. After bathing, you can mix it with water or even apply it to the underarms with a cotton ball. Let it dry completely before putting on deodorant or clothing. It should help clear up the smell soon enough.

How to Apply:

It is simple to apply. First, you need a spray bottle. Next, you need Apple Cider Vinegar(1 cup) and water (Half cup). You have to mix well. Put the solution in the clean spray bottle. Now, spray it on your underarms. Use it before sleeping and stay overnight. Remove it in the morning with lukewarm water.

3. Coconut Oil

Third, on our list is coconut oil. Coconut oil is a superb moisturiser and will also leave your skin soft and silky, helping to reduce underarm odour. It will help soften the skin, making washing with soap or shampoo easier without leaving any sticky residue.
